Hello,
I finally got my Studio One 2 Producer up and running and I want to use Guitar Rig 5 Pro as a plug-in, but it doesn't show in the lists of any of the tabs- Instruments, Effects, Sounds, Files, and Pool.
I looked through the manuals for both GR5 and S1 and GR5 says, 'During the installation of GUITAR RIG 5 on a Windows computer, you need to specify the folder where your DAW looks for VST plug-ins. This is where the plug-in file “GUITAR RIG 5.dll” has been copied — you can move it anytime, in case you changed your plug-in folder or made a mistake. It might be necessary to re-scan the plug-in folder in your DAW before GUITAR RIG 5 appears in the list.'
There are two folders in S1 that looks like they could be used for plug-ins, but I went with the more obvious Plugins folder and had my GR5.dll file installed there. I'm not sure how to have S1 're-scan' the plug-in folder, but I figure a restart should do the trick, but it didn't work as GR5 still doesn't show in my lists.
The manual for S1 only tells you how to install the 3rd party plug-ins that were included with S1, at least that's what I could find on plug-ins.
This is really frustrating as I upgraded to Producer just to be able to use 3rd party plug-ins
Edit: Okay, nevermind. I figured it out -_-'

Two things
First: double check and make sure you have authorized your S1 to be producer if you are coming from artist you don't need to reinstall just register and use the new key.
Second: check the install path of Guitar Rig and make sure its path is added in the Locations section of S1's options under the VST tab.
just some dude that hangs out at presonus

Thanks, Scott. I have verified that I am running Producer and I finally got GR5 to show in my list now that I know how to set the VST location to the respective plug-in folder. But now I'm having a problem with EZDrummer. I believe I have the VST plug-in location pointed at the proper EZDrummer plug-in folder, but it's not showing up in my list. I'm using the 64bit version of S1, does this matter? Is EZDrummer 32bit only?
Edit: I see on the EZDrummer page that it supports both 32 and 64 bit, so that shouldn't be a problem.
Edit2: So, again, if I just did a little more digging earlier, I would have found info telling me that there's an update that patches EZDrummer to have 64bit plug-in capabilites. I have dowloaded and installed it, and now it works in my 64bit version of S1. Yay for research -_-'
