Studio One Artist 3 Vst Plugins

PreSonus Studio One is a multitrack recording software that has been designed to work with audio interface models. VST, short for 'Virtual Studio Technology,' instruments or effects are automatically detected upon first startup, but new locations for these plugins can be added manually. Navigate to Preferences/Options/ Locations/ VST Plug-ins Click on the Add button, specify the location of your plug-in, and click OK. You can also drag-and-drop any folder from the Explorer/Finder into the Locations list. Studio One Pro will then scan these locations, along with searching for new-plugins, at startup.

Hello, can I add custom VST plugins to Studio one 3 prime? I know you cant in the free versions of 1 and 2. This is also a deal breaker for me. Thanks.

Sorry, you can't add VST functionality to Prime. You would need Artist ($99.95 as of 8/2/15), and an add on, which is $79.99....seen on this page at the top:

Atari 5200, 64K RAM S1PRO Radio Shack Cassette Recorder w/internal Mic, and too many plugins.

Assuming you're on very tight budget and you don't mind waiting a bit longer one little hint: license for S1 Artist can be obtained cheaply from second-hand market (I saw it as low as $10) or you can get one when you purchase Presonus hardware. I'm pretty sure that add-on will be also on promotion one day (Black Friday perhaps?).

1. Artist doesn't support 3rd-party VST plugins.
2. You can purchase VST/AU/Rewire support for Artist.

Maybe its just the mood that I am in today, but what 'deal' is broken? The exchange of no money for a product? That deal?

I saw an AD or review somewhere, and I can't find it now, that was apparently a misprint, where it said or suggested that some of the add-ons worked with Prime.
I now chalk that up to being early information that was just incorrect. I think it was a vendor site or training site like S1E or something.

I won't unfairly say it was them, don't recall tbh. I do remember seeing it somewhere and thinking... 'Ok, that's a surprise.'
Not unusual though as multiple websites try to be the first to get news out. Wherever it was has probably been edited later since I can't find it.

Installation and Compatibility

***Important Note***: Our plugins (and all other 3rd-party plugins) are only readily compatible with 'Professional' versions of Studio One. If you have an 'Artist' version of Studio One, you'll need to get the VST and AU add-on from Presonus and install it in order to load our plugins in Studio One Artist.

If your Antares plug-ins are not showing up in Studio One (64-bit), please be sure that you have installed the 64-bit VST or AU version of the plug-in.

If your license is for an older 32-bit version, you may need to first purchase an upgrade, or alternatively, use Studio One 3 in 32-bit mode.

The installers for older versions of our plugins can be found here.

Scanning for plug-ins

If you have installed a compatibleVST plugin, and that plug-in is not showing up in Studio One, please follow these instructions to resolve the issue:

1. Startup Studio One, click on the Studio One menu, open Options, and click the 'Locations' icon.

2. Select the VST Plug-ins tab.

3. Make sure the 'Scan at startup’ box is checked.

4. Click the Reset Blacklist button, then click Yes to confirm.

5. In the Locations listing below, make sure that the following plug-in folders are in the list. If they're not, click Add and browse to these locations to add them to the list.

For VST2 Antares plug-ins:

C:Program FilesCommon FilesVST2 (add this if you're using the 64-bit version of Studio One)

C:Program Files (x86)Common FilesVST2 (add this if you're using the 32-bit version of Studio One)

For VST3 Antares plug-ins:

C:Program FilesCommon FilesVST3 (add this if you're using the 64-bit version of Studio One)

C:Program Files (x86)Common FilesVST3 (add this if you're using the 32-bit version of Studio One)

6. Click Apply and Ok.
